Product types & Set and setting.

Now that you have begun the journey to discover if CBD is right for you, you most likely have questions about how to take your CBD. Don’t worry, here at EarthMagic we’re here for you! In this article we’ll discuss the pros and cons of using a CBD product and how you can maximize your enjoyment and the benefits of CBD. With so many people exploring their own bodies endo-cannabinoid system, and reaping the rewards, now is the perfect time to gather some information and start out on your own personal wellbeing journey. Welcome to the wide world of CBD!

Product types

CBD now is available in many different forms. Some are generalized in their CBD distribution (sub-lingual oils and gel-caps), while others are localized (topicals, creams, and patches). Which type you choose is up to your discretion, depending on the discomfort you’re facing. Athletes might choose to apply a topical or a patch to a group of muscles they have been using vigorously, whereas someone who is facing a battle with anxiety might choose a tincture or gel-cap for a more “whole-body” distribution. Below we’ll look at the top 6 product types and how they can be effectively used in a CBD regimen.

Tinctures & How to Use

Tinctures are great. They’re easy to use, easy to meter (so you know how much you’re ingesting) and are fast acting. You just drop a couple drops in-between your tongue and cheek and let it sit there before swallowing. Dosages can range from 100mg to over 1500mg of CBD per bottle. Tinctures are the most common variety of CBD products available on the market.

A tincture is known to be most effective by not swallowing the liquid right away. You want to absorb as much CBD as you can through the mucus membranes in the mouth. Place the drops under your tongue and hold for around 30 seconds. Then swallow. Repeat as necessary until desired results are achieved.

Capsules & How to Use

CBD capsules are an easy way to add CBD to your diet as a daily supplement. They are much easier to take than tinctures and have much less of a risk of spilling or leaking. Capsules typically offer 10-25mg of CBD per capsule.

Capsules are great as they are an easy method to introduce CBD into your daily regimen. Just take one capsule (or as needed) daily with water. Your body takes more time to digest capsules, compared to a tincture, so you typically won’t “feel” anything or the effects right away. CBD Capsules are ideal to take as supplements for people who are looking to boost their endocannabinoid system or those who would like to take “precise” doses of CBD. This is much easier to do with capsules compared to vapes or tinctures.

Topicals & How to Use

Increasingly, brands have begun to add CBD onto topicals, such as lotions, salves, patches, and lip balms. CBD topicals are known to help with a variety of discomforts, and because they can be applied directly to the site of discomfort, are great for active lifestyles.

CBD creams are highly effective for any type of joint or muscle aches & strains. If you’re suffering from a medical condition, recovering from a sports injury, or even just a sore shoulder from sleeping in the wrong position, CBD topicals can provide an immediate relief. Apply generously to areas that could benefit and re-apply as necessary.

Sprays & How to Use

CBD sprays are just the same as Tinctures, however not as common. As the name suggests, with a spray you spray it into your mouth rather than use a dropper like with a Tincture or Oil. Typical concentration of CBD sprays ranges from 1-3mg per spray and up to 500mg per bottle.

Like tinctures, sprays are most effective by not swallowing the liquid right away. You want to absorb as much as you can sub-lingually. Spray the CBD oil under your tongue and hold for around 30-45 seconds. The serving size should be labeled on the bottle (typically 2-3 sprays). Use daily or as needed.

Vapes & How to Use

Using a vape pen to ingest CBD is highly effective in that you can easily modify the dosage you take, depending on how you feel. You can probably say you “feel” its effects much quicker in comparison to the other methods mentioned above.

In order to use a CBD vape, you will need an e-cigarette, vape pen, or vaporizer. Add the CBD oil to your vape liquid or apply drops onto the coil, heat and inhale the appropriate amount of vapor, or search out a pre-filled vape cart loaded with CBD.

Edibles & How to Use

Lastly, one of the easiest, and most delicious ways to ingest CBD is Via edibles. Gummy candies, Chocolate, Breath mints, even potato chips can now contain CBD. With all these options it’s not exactly the healthiest way to deliver CBD, but definitely the tastiest. The serving size should be labeled on the package, and you might have to limit yourself from eating them all!

If I must tell you how to use an edible, I’ll stick to telling you about this “golden rule” for taking any medication; “You can always take more if you need to, but once you have taken (any) drug, you can’t take less. You need to let it run the course and only afterwards will you know your personal limit and how much you should take in the future.”

Set (short for Mind-set) & Setting

Now that you’re informed as to some of the delivery methods of CBD, let’s talk about when and where the best places to take your CBD are.

If you’re brand new to CBD, no matter the delivery method, I wholeheartedly recommend that you try CBD with a trusted friend or partner who is of sound mind and body to be your “Guide.” Very rarely do people experience negative effects from CBD. However, depending on your ingestion method you might also be consuming different cannabinoids along with CBD. A trusted guide can be your “eyes & ears” if you’re unable. Just having someone to talk to, for reassurance, can be the difference between relief and regret.

Choose a familiar place.

While you experiment with CBD delivery and dosing, choosing a familiar, safe place, is paramount. Until you know how your mind and body react to a CBD regimen, resist the urge to “Explore.” Losing track of time, surroundings, & responsibilities, while not common, is possible. It is best to discover how these new compounds make you feel, rather than discovering the “trail” behind your house and where it leads.
Also, as a general warning, never consume CBD or other cannabinoids if you must operate heavy machinery or drive an automobile until you are 100% sure that you are of sound mind and body.

Lastly, and this more pertains to edibles that contain CBD, but make sure you store them in a safe place away from unsuspecting individuals. The last thing any of us want is to find out grandma ate your last bag of CBD chips, or you gave away your CBD chocolate as a Halloween candy.

Now that you’re more educated and capable of proceeding with caution, head over to Earthmagic and see what products we offer that call out to you. With a world full of enchantments, count on Earthmagic to be your guiding light!

No matter the sport, being an athlete is a responsibility that takes up a lot of someone’s time, strength, energy, and concentration. It is depletion of these attributes, paired with the drive of competition, that forces athletes to take good care of their bodies, both physically and mentally, or suffer the consequences. One way that athletes can do this is by using CBD products to help relieve certain symptoms, but is it legal? Here at EarthMagic we ask the question, Does CBD give an “unfair advantage” to those who consume, vs those who do not? Let’s explore.

At this point, scientific studies, anecdotal research, and first-hand accounts, all have posted corroborating evidence that CBD has many health benefits for a wide and diverse range of people. Among these people are athletes who go through a variety of physical and mental stresses during their training and competitions. In this article I’m going to go in-depth how CBD can benefit athletes, if it creates an unfair playing field, and lastly highlight a few athletes known for endorsing CBD products.

How Does CBD Work? Does It Benefit Athletes?

Before going into what symptoms and conditions CBD can help relieve, it is important to understand how CBD is absorbed by your body. CBD is a cannabinoid. When cannabinoids are consumed, they generate their effects by attaching to receptors inside your body. The human body has two receptors for cannabinoids, named CB1 and CB2.

CB1 – CB1 receptors are primarily located in your brain. These deal with things such as physical activities (coordination and balance), emotions and the feelings associated with them, and memories and the feelings they incite.

CB2 – CB2 receptors are found in your immune system and affect inflammation and pain and their corresponding feelings.

Knowing where these receptors are found and what these receptors affect helps us to understand how and why CBD can be beneficial to athletes. Because every sport is vastly different and unique from one to another it is impossible to explain how CBD could benefit every type of athlete from every type of sport. Instead, there are three key areas I am going to talk about that have communal benefits for every athlete and sport alike.

Improved Recovery

Swelling or Inflammation of overly used muscle groups is very common among athletes. It happens when an athlete pushes themself to their limit, or past their limit, where they sustain an injury. Thanks to the CB2 receptors in our immune system, CBD can help to reduce that negative inflammation, thusly making the recovery process faster for said athlete. It also helps to relieve the pain and dis-comfort from the injury itself, allowing for more rest and shorter recovery times.

Improved Sleep

Sleep is vital for all of us, but athletes especially, to recover and perform at their best. Lack of sleep can be a result of many things, including pain, anxiety, or an active mind. Luckily for us, CBD can help with all of that by reducing anxiety and helping us to relax, resulting in more restful sleep.

Improved Mood

Being an athlete, at any level but especially for the professional, comes with its own unique stressors. Between the countless hours of training and routines, the anxiety of performing in front of a crowd, the constant quest to refine and improve your skills, it’s easy to imagine how any athlete can get mentally overwhelmed. CBD helps to reduce anxiety levels, which helps to improve our mood. Many sports require strong concentration, meaning athletes must be in a good mindset in order to perform their best. It’s been said that victories are 90% mental and 10% physical. What competitor wouldn’t want their full potential on tap? Is that an unfair advantage?

Who Benefits the Most?

Due to CBD’s natural ability to diminish our dis-comfort, literally any athlete can benefit from CBD, making it difficult to identify which athletes benefit the most. For understandable reasons, CBD usage is more popular among extreme contact sports such as football, hockey, and MMA. This does not mean that it can’t benefit athletes in non-contact sports however, as minor injuries and muscle strains can be caused by many things, such as poor rotation when throwing a ball or taking an awkward step and rolling an ankle.

CBD has been known to be very beneficial for runners, both long and short distance, due to its ability to reduce inflammation and help speed up the recovery process. It also helps to relieve joint pain caused by the constant impact that reverberates throughout the entire body. This reduction in inflammation is the same reason that it is beneficial to football players, skiers, and any other athlete. Much like certain over-the-counter medications, it works for everybody. This homogenized benefit is sounding less and less like an unfair advantage, and more like a “power-up” available to all those who want to preform at their best.

Are Athletes Permitted to Use CBD?

Certain professional sports organizations, such as Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Hockey League (NHL), the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA), and recently the National Football League (NFL) allow for the usage of CBD products. Others, such as the National Basketball Association (NBA), take a stance against CBD due to it being a cannabis by-product.

The tricky thing for the NBA is that although their drug testing includes tests for marijuana, CBD typically won’t show up on the results. This is mainly due to testing looking for the dominant cannabinoid found in Marijuana, THC. However, there have been instances where CBD found in a player’s system has resulted in a failed drug test. Hopefully for these athletes’ regulations will be amended to reflect a broader understanding of how our bodies process CBD, how we benefit from CBD, and what, if any, are the performance enhancing capabilities of this cannabinoid.

Professional Athletes Who Advocate For CBD

While the saying might hold true, “…there is no such thing as bad publicity…”, I am a believer that no one wants negative things said about them. The same goes for the hemp, and incidentally, the cannabis industry, making it even more important that popular professional athletes endorse CBD. The spotlight that athletes help to shine on CBD assists in spreading awareness about the advantages that CBD has for athletes, and for the rest of us. Let’s look at a few famous professional athletes known for being believers of CBD and its benefits.

Mike Tyson

One of the most prolific boxers of his time who finished his career with a record of 50-6. Since retirement he has starred in movies such as “The hangover,” “Ip man 1 & 3,” & “Scary movie V” and TV shows “Entourage,” and “Mike Tyson mysteries” to name a few.  If you have not heard of him, or his signature face tattoos, maybe now is a good time to look him up.

He has publicly promoted CBD in a video in which he referred to it as a “Miracle Oil.” He is quoted as saying “I’ve never felt as healthy in my life, I’ve never felt as clear in my life,” When talking about consuming cannabis. Mike Tyson has gone on the record crediting cannabis and CBD with major improvements to his mental and physical well-being, and proudly noting that there’s also never been a time he’s taken so few pills.

In 2018 “Iron-Mike” launched Tyson Ranch, a 40-acre cannabis ranch in California. In 2019, the serial entrepreneur and celebrity businessman kicked off his podcast, Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, where he interviews athletes, celebrities, and comedians while consuming cannabis. It currently has over 40 million listens.

Jake Plummer & Brett Favre

Jake Plummer and Brett Favre are former NFL quarterbacks who played for numerous seasons at the highest level possible. Plummer, after undergoing hip surgeries, began using CBD oil to help improve his joint and cartilage functions. He has become a major advocate for CBD and even helped co-found the Athletes for Care organization which focuses on safer treatment alternatives for athletes. Meanwhile, Favre has lent his name to CBD brand Green Eagle and is their current official brand ambassador.

Nate Diaz & Joe Rogan

Nate Diaz is a professional fighter in the UFC who has been involved in several high-profile, physically intense fights inside the octagon. He has always been very open about his use of CBD oil and other cannabinoids and claims it helps him to recover faster from his injuries after fights. Joe Rogan is a UFC commentator, comedian, and host of a very successful podcast. Rogan is a huge proponent of CBD, cannabinoids, and psychedelics. Recently he has partnered on a CBD beverage line aptly named, Flaming Joe.

Megan Rapinoe

Women’s soccer legend Megan Rapinoe is not only an extraordinary ball player and feminist icon, she is also an passionate advocate of CBD for athletes. Her successful career stretches back to the 2004 FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship. She has competed on teams in the US, Europe, Australia, and now plays for the Seattle Reign Football Club.

She has been praised for her outstanding leadership of the 2012 Olympics US Women’s National Team, helping them take home the gold medal as well as the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015 and 2019.

Rapinoe has been publicly outspoken regarding the advantages of CBD oil as a healthy, natural method to maintain general wellbeing while training and competing. She has also discussed the importance of changing the “status quo” around pain management in all sports, for all athletes.

Closing Thoughts

It seems that the major barrier between CBD and athletes and the relief they require is their respective leagues drug policy. While certain athletes competing in certain sports are not “allowed” to use CBD products, we know that it can, and has, helped several other athletes in varying sports. With continual research and refinement of the available CBD products, we can only hope that CBD will continue to help athletes have long and healthy careers. The caveat here is, as long as the respective governing bodies allow CBD for all participants, there is no unfair advantage given to those who choose to take CBD vs those who abstain.

With winter and all her doom-and-gloom just on our horizon, plenty of people can find it a struggle to get started with their day. Once started, staying active throughout the day poses an entirely different set of challenges. While the summer months can be ideal for those who are active outdoors, a year-round routine incorporating physical activities provides many benefits, both physically and mentally.

It’s time to get off the couch, get out of bed, get fueled up, and start participating in the world around you, regardless of what the temperature outside your home is! Both your emotional and physical wellbeing is improved incorporating more activity into your lifestyle. Realizing all these benefits we pose the question, “How can using CBD products motivate us to keep active?”

Keeping Positive Space

Exercising and adapting healthy eating habits are both known to be beneficial to our mental & physical health. We mention this because stress, depression, anxiety, and poor nutrition can all get in the way of adjusting our routines for the better. When our mental health isn’t “healthy,” everything suffers.

By beginning a CBD regimen, you are providing yourself with an opportunity to experience a plethora of benefits in relation to mental health. However, research still needs to be completed to scientifically back this statement. Nevertheless, with thousands of people saying the use of CBD products has given them increased mental health, do we need science to prove that they are not lying?

Cannabidiol (CBD)

CBD interacts with the endo-cannabinoid system we all have inside our bodies. This system plays a role in regulating our emotions and internal functions that are essential for everyday healthy living. Because it works directly within our bodies, CBD creates major effects. Since CBD plays such a major role in our mental health, it also plays a major part in preventing anxiety, depression, and stresses that keep us from being, or staying, active.

Feeling great while in the “Moment of Movement”

If you are taking part in vigorous, physical activity at least a few times a week, you are probably aware of the physical toll that your body can be put through. “Post-workout Crash” is something that all of us who regularly workout have gone through at some time. We all know what it means to feel like rubber once the workout is complete. Then, within a day or two, soreness, stiffness, and/or cramps take over the muscles that were being used.

CBD products might help your sore, stiff, cramped muscles and joints through the recovery process. When CBD becomes part of your regular routine your body will better tolerate the aches and stiffness that come from working out and your body won’t need as much time to rest and recover. This prevents you from taking unnecessary days off in-between workouts.

As it is packed full of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, CBD is thought to both limit swelling and discomfort felt throughout the body. Typically, CBD products can be used before or after a workout. This is particularly true of products that are used topically, such as creams or lotions. When on a CBD regimen the goal is to maintain the ability to stay active & limit the downtime, even if it requires a little bit of extra consideration or planning.

Maximize Your Sleep

Seemingly every one of us would like to get more restful sleep. No matter if you battle to fall asleep or just struggle to stay asleep throughout the entire night, it is all chaos to your system and can lead to waking up just as exhausted as you were when you finally “checked out.” Now, add in a strenuous workout and this compounds the issues and makes them even worse. Odds are I don’t need to tell you. You did the research, you ended up here at EarthMagic… reading along, nodding your head in agreement… You are already fully aware the effects this creates on both your mental and physical health, because you have lived it.

Of all the benefits people are receiving from the use of a CBD product, a more restful or better night of sleep can be one of the most life changing. The body’s natural ability to monitor and maintain internal states and the mental and physical rejuvenation obtained from sleep is improved with the use of CBD. Once more, there is still plenty of research and study that needs to be completed. However, tens-of-thousands of people saying – after using CBD, they are sleeping easier, sleeping better, & waking up more rested than they have in years cannot all be wrong.

When ingesting a CBD product orally, you will experience the onset quicker than any other delivery method. This is in part because the CBD goes directly into the bloodstream via mucous membranes in your mouth, instead of having to pass through the stomach and digestive system before spreading throughout the body. Incorporating CBD into part of your daily routine allows you to abandon the lingering tiredness & fall asleep faster, both-of-which amount to a better quality of sleep.

Active Lifestyles and CBD

It can be a difficult task, breaking your routine… going out of your way to make sure you are staying physically active. However, it is well worth the rewards and benefits you will receive. Maintaining an active lifestyle is easier when using a CBD product.

No matter if it is aching muscles, a lack of quality sleep, or poor mental health getting in your way, using CBD will make creating a healthy routine easier. Now that we’ve explored a few ways that using CBD helps you practice and activate an active lifestyle, let’s take a quick look at some of the questions most frequently asked by people new to CBD.

What is the best way to take CBD?

This answer depends mostly on the question “why are you are taking CBD?” For localized ailments, a topical or a cream will be most advantageous. The application is simple, just apply where you feel the discomfort. For more generalized conditions, consumption orally is the preferred method. Some of the more popular methods of use include CBD oil under the tongue, a gel-cap or capsule, a gummy or soft chew, or a CBD infused beverage.

As mentioned above, one of the fastest ways to feel the effects of CBD is by using an oil or tincture and applying a few drops underneath the tongue. Most products in this category come with a dropper that you use to put a few drops under your tongue. Try and hold the liquid there for 30-45 seconds before swallowing. This will ensure the CBD gets absorbed into your bloodstream as quick as possible.

Another popular way of using CBD for those individuals practicing an active lifestyle is by using a topical such as a cream or lotion. These products have additional ingredients for healthy skin and hydration, but they also allow the CBD to focus on a specific area of your body. Are your arms sore after max’ing out your reps? Apply a CBD cream and literally rub the soreness away. Calves and knees sore after you didn’t skip leg day at the gym? Use of a CBD cream or lotion will help you get back to full strength in no time.

One drawback with administering CBD topically is that because the product is rubbed into, and has to absorb through the skin, you will not feel the benefits as quickly as you would with a tincture or oil under the tongue. However, by making these topical products a part of your daily routine, the benefits will happen over time and ultimately become part of daily life.

How do I know how much to use?

If you have never used CBD, it might sound counter-intuitive, but you always start with a smaller amount. For the first week, use the same amount every day. Then, slowly begin to increase your dosage once or twice a week after you see how your body responds to using CBD. Continue this regimen until you pinpoint the amount of CBD that provides the relief you are looking for.

FYI, over time your body will build up a tolerance to CBD. Just because the results you are used to are diminishing doesn’t necessarily mean you need to increase the amount of CBD you are taking, it’s not a one-way street! Every now and then you simply need to go a few days without using CBD. After this “tolerance break” return to the dosage you were using before taking a hiatus.

Can I use CBD with other medications?

Often, the answer to this question is “Yes.” You can use CBD while taking other medications. However, if you are currently taking any medication, regardless of if it is prescribed or bought over the counter, or what type of medication it is, you need to have a talk with your doctor about any potential interactions or complications.

Beforehand, it is in your best interest to take the time to prepare for this conversation. Don’t be the patient who simply asks your doctor “Can I use a CBD product?” It is best to have a conversation and tell the doctor exactly why it is you want to start using this type of product. Be prepared to answer questions like, “What have you already tried, other than CBD, that hasn’t worked?” Likewise, have some investigative questions of your own, like “What are some common results others have achieved when using CBD products for reasons like mine?” The more thoughtful and prepared you are for the conversation, the more serious the answer will be you receive from the doctor. Knowledge is power, and the quest to live our best life is one filled with questions, trials, and unlikely answers. Listen to what your doctor tells you, and together you both might leave the conversation with a new outlook on an ancient topic.

A new scientific study found that CBDA and CBGA inhibited the reproduction and reduced the spread of Covid-19 in lab tests. However, what works in a petri dish does not necessarily work in humans.

“In the wake of all the new-age cures for covid, let’s examine the facts before cannabinoids become the next Ivermectin.”

A scientific study published Jan 28th, 2022 in the National Library of Medicine sent tremors through the cannabis industry. Over the course of the next 48 hours, everyone from talk-show hosts to comedians took turns at making fun of the latest “Covid-cure” to cross our collective path.

Here’s the cliff notes: A research team comprised of staff and students from the Oregon Health & Science University and Oregon State University found that CBDA and CBGA prevented the replication and propagation of Covid-19 in initial lab tests.

What is CBDA and CBGA and how do they affect the Covid-19 virus?

CBDA and CBGA are the natural forms of the CBD and CBG cannabinoids. Both cannabinoids can be obtained from federally legal hemp or extracted from Cannabis (where allowed.)
The study found that these specific cannabinoids deterred the Covid-19 virus from inserting itself into human cells. At certain concentrations of potency, CBDA and CBGA were shown to reduce infections in lab tests by half. The study found that the potency of CBDA or CBGA needed to prevent infection in humans “…is high (lol) but might be clinically achievable.”

Pop culture’s take on the news “Cannabis cures Cvoid-19”

Less than 48hr’s later comedy writers had turned CBD into the next fad Covid-19 cure. Some of the better one-liners coming from late-night talk shows were:

“You know, it’s funny — all these crazy cures, I’m like ‘Oh, that’s ridiculous.’ Ivermectin, the horse dewormer… Bleach… And then somebody says marijuana prevents Covid, and I’m like ‘Oh, really? Do tell.’”
— Jimmy Kimmel

“In other words, the pot enters the body and asks Covid, ‘Are you a cell? You have to tell me if you’re a cell.’” — Stephen Colbert

“… All this time we’ve been listening to the C.D.C., when we should have been eating C.B.D.”
— Jimmy Kimmel

And just like that…

With the aid of late-night co-hosts comedians, a little-known study involving cannabinoids has transformed the narrative to, “Cannabis cures Covid.”

Is the new study exciting news? Sure! However let us examine and consider the full context of this report.

Clinical trials vs Study findings

First, let us look at what the researchers found, then, at what they did not find.

According to the aforementioned article, this study was not of the scale you might be assuming. No clinical trials were preformed to see if the cannabinoids deterred the spread of the Covid-19 virus in humans. The question of “Does CBDA block the production of Covid-19 cells?” hasn’t even been evaluated on lab mice.

The research team ran the cannabinoid compounds of CBDA and CBGA through a computer model. Put differently, they looked at the cannabinoid’s viability against Covid-19 transmission in a computer simulation.

With those results showing potential, the research team then performed a cell infiltration analyses. Basically, in a lab setting, the research team mixed active samples of the Covid-19 virus with CBDA, CBGA, or a neutral control in petri dishes. After 24 hours, the researchers found that the Covid-19 virus had reproduced at a drastically lower rate in the petri dishes with the CBDA and CBGA samples, compared to the control petri dish.

Is it just CBD & CBG, or do other cannabinoids show promising signs?

It is worth noting; The research team reported that the cannabinoid THCA, which is the raw form of THC, showed comparable potential to CBDA & CBGA in their computer model. However, because THCA is federally illegal, (because it is derived from Cannabis, not Hemp) and the scientists are required to comply with federal research funding rules, the team couldn’t move forward and test actual THCA in cell infiltration analyses, even though THCA is legal in the state where the study was carried out. THCA might be just as likely at preventing the replication and propagation of Covid-19 as CBDA and CBGA, or more, but we do not know because of federal government’s stance on Cannabis prohibition.

The exact wording of the study is encouraging, but nothing has been proven. In scientific terms, the Oregon study is intriguing—these findings are meant to elicit further research, perhaps branching out and using live animal test subjects. However, we are a long way from studies that evaluate the success of these cannabinoids at deterring the spread of Covid-19 in actual humans.

We are in the middle of a global pandemic, the likes of which our generation has never seen. In North America the mainstream & social media have championed insane “cures” like Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine while ridiculing the scientifically proven Covid-19 vaccine. The last thing that passionate cannabis enthusiasts want to see is their “Sacred plant” being associated with the likes of these hair-brained, non-proven, Covid-19 “cures.”

Déjà vu
This study opens up the discussion for de-stigmatizing cannabinoids and their parent plants (Hemp & Cannabis), but this discussion comes with great risk. Firstly, there’s risk to public health, as people who would otherwise get vaccinated instead start chugging CBDA oil. Also, there is a potential risk that CBDA & CBGA extracts could get grouped in with drinking bleach, taking Ivermectin, or hydroxychloroquine, and be written off as just another over-promoted miracle cure that under-delivers.

TL;DR. Of course, try CBD— but don’t let it stop you from getting the vaccine.

The Oregon study should lead to more studies of the prospective use for cannabinoids—including CBDA, CBGA, and THCA—to prevent the spread of Covid-19 at the cellular level. However, you shouldn’t skip a proven vaccine in favor of CBDA oil.
